The first four weeks of pregnancy were great! I had an inclination I was pregnant, and so I made my eating choices purely organic and healthfully. I worked out everyday: lifting weights and walking the dogs (not once, but twice a day!). I even started doing my Kegel excercises 3 months early! I was feeling great.
Then, like the ultrasound magically sent a secret message to my body (hey – you’re pregnant, time to start throwing up!) … the morning sickness set in at week 5.
It was really just a gentle wave of nausea visiting me every morning (and late at night, or whenever I get too hungry), without anything too horrible … but it’s really uncomfortable nonetheless. Marc has been serving me toast in bed to help alleviate the nausea, but it takes a solid hour or more for me to get up and around.
I bought some Ginger Syrup from Whole Foods, which is basically just honey and pureed ginger, but the bottle claims to help pregnancy induced naseau and the lady at the store said people love it. I love it too. When mixed with cold club soda, it tastes like fresh Ginger Ale and it seems to help ease my stomach, any time of the day.
